Belt Replacement on Eureka Victory & Whirlwind Models

Turn off switch and unplug vacuum cleaner before servicing vacuum cleaner. Belt pulleys and belt can become hot during normal use. To prevent injury, avoid touching the motor pulley when checking the belt. Vacuum cleaners create suction and contain a revolving brush roll and moving parts. Keep loose clothing, hair, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.

Step 1

Turn off vacuum cleaner and unplug power cord from wall.

Step 2

Put handle into it's lowest position

Step 3

Loosen the two screws that hold the top on.

Step 4

Remove the top by tilting forward and lifting.

Step 5

Lift side of brush roll opposite of belt to remove brush roll.

Step 6

Slide belt off of motor pulley.
CAUTION: Belt pulleys and belt can become hot during normal use.

Step 7

Check for any obstructions in suction inlet.

Step 8

Slide new belt over motor pulley.

Step 9

Place belt on bush roll pulley.

Step 10

Align end opposite of belt end with slot in base, and place in base.

Step 11

Stretch belt and snap belt end into base.

Step 12

Rotate bush roll with your hand to make sure belt is seated properly.

Step 13

Replace top. Make sure top is behind furniture guard. Top should go into place with out much force.

Step 14

Replace screws and tighten.
